Meet the team

Kat Stanley

Kat has been in the fitness industry for ten years; personal training, teaching aerobics, running marathons, taking team training sessions and specialising in women’s fitness. Kat studied a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Anatomy and Structural Biology at Otago University and also a certificate in Personal Training and Exercise Prescription at Otago Sports Institute.

Kat is a Certified Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor. Kat also worked as Personal Trainer for 3 years before moving to London and worked both as a Personal Trainer. 

Since returning to New Zealand, Kat is a mother of two, co-founded RedefinedU and also completed a Certificate in Pre & Post Natal exercise along with a STOTTS Pilates Mat Instructor course. 

Kat also works closely with My Food Bag founder Nadia Lim. When Kat is not looking after the kids she will be outside exercising. Kat also enjoys singing in a band, playing soccer, cooking and dancing.


Michael McCormack

Michael completed a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.PhEd) from Otago University majoring in Exercise Prescription & Management. Michael worked as a Personal Trainer at Les Mills for 4 years whilst playing semi-professional rugby union and 7’s. Michael moved to London and worked as a Personal Trainer. A move back to NZ saw Michael co-founding and directing RedefinedU. Michael delivers the some of the RedefinedU group training sessions, takes one on one PT sessions and leads the delivery of the  'RedefinedU Be fit & Be Well' corporate programme to workplaces.


Michael is the writer for fitness content for Skechers NZ and also wrote the fitness section for Nadia Lim's Fresh Start book.   


Michael has also worked with rugby teams as a strength and conditioning trainer. When he isn’t throwing around fitness gear he enjoys playing touch rugby, going hunting, fishing, kayaking and having a jam on the guitar.

Laura Peat (NZ Registered Dietitian)
Laura is passionate about spreading her love for health and nutrition. She has a caring attitude and enjoys working with individuals to achieve their nutrition goals and best health status. Laura is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a Master of Health Science - in Nutrition and Dietetics from The University of Auckland. She is experienced in a variety of areas including; healthy eating, weight loss, malnutrition and has a special interest in gastrointestinal disorders and conducted her Master’s thesis on Coeliac Disease. 
Laura is currently volunteering with the New Zealand Nutrition Foundation. Laura loves being an influencer of positive change and empowering individuals to take control of their health and wellbeing. Laura enjoys exploring the great outdoors (camping, tramping, skiing and sailing), playing sport (hockey, adventure racing, and ultimate frisbee), experimenting in the kitchen, and spending quality time with friends and family.
